Behaviour Veterinarian

Dr Liesl Plekker

Introducing Dr Liesl Plekker, an accomplished veterinary surgeon who qualified in 2011, and went on to complete a postgraduate Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour at the University of Edinburgh.  She is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for pets and their families through evidence-based, fear-free behavioural interventions.

Liesl worked as a Veterinary Behaviourist for the Dogs Trust, the largest canine charity in the United Kingdom. She is dedicated to staying at the forefront of research and has delivered numerous lectures and conference talks on veterinary behaviour.

Liesl is skilled at diagnosing the underlying cause of behavioural issues and developing treatment plans, which may involve appropriate medication (if indicated) environmental management and behavioural modification.

Understanding dog’s behavioural health issues may require both veterinarian and trainer intervention to truly assess and diagnose the pet’s concern, Dr Liesl works closely with our Trainer and Behaviourist Victoria.
