Queensland Pet Friendly Cafes

For too long our best furry friends have been pushed aside while we pop in to the café for our weekend coffee pit stop.  With a bowl of water at their feet they wait patiently outside tethered to a pole or a bench for their humans to finish off their double shot caramel soy latte. But fear no more people, we have found some special places where you and your best friend can enjoy a pupcake (or a pint) together in the warm summer sun. 

Sassafras Garden Bar Paddington

Sassafras Canteen been part of the Brisbane Café seen since 1997. Now the guys behind the café have got a new venture. Sassafras Bar in the Garden is Brisbane’s first dog friendly bar. The guys behind Sassafras Canteen have opened up their courtyard on the weekend for you and your four legged friend. Serving craft beer from the Newstead Brewing Co. and Temple Brewing Co., organic cider and vast array of wines from all over. The best news about this bar is that is is dog friendly. The bar is open Thursday-Sunday from 3pm, so come along bring your favourite poochy pal and enjoy a drink or 2 in the warm summer evenings.

Forty West Café Ripley

Forty West café is a real family community hub located in Ipswich. Brought to you by the guys Moose & Gibson it is located in Ipswich’s new housing estate of Providence Ripley. 
This is the perfect family cafe. There are lots of parking spaces, undercover outdoor seating, a play ground for the kids and you can also bring your dog, but make sure you keep them on-leash. They have a fantastic array of food and drinks. Did we mention they are also licensed? So come grab a glass of wine and sit and enjoy the sun while your kids play on the playground with your dog by your side.


Our Place Coffee Garden 

Our Place Coffee garden is a café haven for dog owners found in the bayside suburbs of Victoria Point. Our Place comprises of a handful of small businesses that share the space with the café. Dogs are welcome on leash around the café and business’, where you and your best friend can share a cappuccino (or puppachino as they are called) and relax together. They best part about this café is that there is an ‘Off The Leash’ Coffee garden specially designed for well behaved dogs to socialise and play while their human sits back and enjoy the sun.

What is better than an old fashion drive in movie theatre? I will tell you. Being able to take your dog to an old fashion drive in movie theatre. The Yatala Drive Ins allows you to do just that. With 3 screens the Drive In’s are a place for the whole family. Bring your dog and bring the kids for a family friendly night out. Just remember folks, our furry friends must be kept on leash.
